new jersey urban parks design competition
While employed at EDAW, Paul Mills was project manager and lead designer of one of five teams short-listed for this international urban park design competition. Competing against New York's and Philadelphia's best designers, Paul led the overall multi disciplined team which included Michael Graves Architects, to respond to a very complex site in a socio-economically depressed region. The process included two submittals and a public presentation to the community and interested parties. The resulting product expressed strong social design values and was a strong contender, only to lose to Field Operations, another New York based Landscape Architectural firm. The final product consisted of five 36 x 48 inch boards. The complete five boards are shown reduced.
