Russell + Mills Studios have been hired to provide the site design, and documentation for a new convention center at Baghdad International Airport. By rehabilitating an existing terminal the site will be rehabilitated and enhanced to create an memorable landscape that includes signature planting, an entry sculpture and utilizing existing historic water features.
Construction documents will also be produced for 2008 construction. The site design takes inspiration from the constant flow of airports and aims to flow through the site much like the organized flow of people, cars, buses at airports and conventions.
