fort collins senior center expansion
Russell + Mills Studios provided conceptual site designs and illustrations for Fort Collins Senior Center as they look to expand their campus. The current center is at capacity and needs to grow into a larger footprint.
Together with Aller-Lingle Architects, we developed two alternatives with one being selected as a combination of the two. The expansion allows for an enclosed bridge connection over existing service access and major utility connections with a spectacular view to the mountains. An entrance plaza was created to provide an external entertainment and relaxation area, also with uninterrupted views of the foothills.
As with most recreational centers, parking demand was a premium and the site allowed us to expand the center's parking. The drawings and illustrations will be used for fund raising efforts with construction aimed to start in 2012. This work was provided through our on-call contract with the City of Fort Collins with Aller-Lingle Architects.
