Russell + Mills Studios were hired to provide landscape architectural and public process services for a new retail center in Fort Collins. The center is proposed to be anchored by a flagship Safeway supermarket and potentially gain LEED certification.
Russell + Mills Studios have promoted the use of bio-swales as storm water detention devices and a landscape that promotes the use of drought tolerant plants with low water use. The concept for the development will create a sustainable model for retail centers.
Russell + Mills Studios collaborated with the design team to prepare site landscape plan, design ideas, character sketches. This work was part of the neighborhood charette and workshops with local residents and city staff held over two days.
