As part of the on-call contract with Denver Parks and Recreation, Russell + Mills Studios designed a new play environment for this local park to replace an aging, outdated playground. The new play area reflects the principals of the newly completed Denver Playground Master Plan, and has incorporated two public workshops where residents and interested parties gave input and their own perspective to the vision of this play environment. The design celebrates the neighborhood character and its extraordinary mature street trees with a custom signature climbing tree, tree finder labyrinth and plant fossil dig. The new play area was constructed in Fall 2009.
