Russell + Mills Studios was hired to create a conceptual plan for a new park in Sheridan on land recently acquired by the City which lies in a flood-prone area of Little Goose Creek. Working with a public relations consultant, the master planning effort was community-driven with two community workshops.

The master plan creates a natural area that capitalizes on the variety of unique ecosystems of the site, including wet meadows, an oxbow lake, upland viewing promontories and an extensive riparian forest. A series of trails will bring visitors through the park, and includes learning opportunities for small groups or classes. The park gives visitors access to an abundant natural area within the city limits.
